Bailey Tardy secured her maiden LPGA title with a four-shot victory over Sarah Schmelzel at Blue Bay in China. Tardy aged 27 finished with a seven-under-par 65 making five birdies in the final eight holes.
Despite Schmelzel initially leading by three shots, Tardy stellar back-nine performance including an eagle on the eighth propelled her to victory.
Tardy expressed overcoming doubts about her ability to win at this level. Ayaka Furue claimed third place with a closing 65 while Northern Ireland Stephanie Meadow finished eighth at 11 under par.
