Bastoni believes Inter are at all-time high under Inzaghi

Inter Milan’s defender, Alessandro Bastoni, asserts that the team, under the guidance of Simone Inzaghi, has reached unprecedented strength.

Speaking at the Gran Gala del Calcio, Bastoni reflected on the progress made in the third year of Inzaghi’s tenure. While there were ups and downs, including two consecutive triumphs in domestic cup competitions and a close call in the Champions League final against Manchester City, Serie A titles remained elusive.

Despite previous setbacks, this season presents a different narrative for Inter Milan in the league where they are displaying formidable form. Bastoni believes that the team has gained a profound awareness of its capabilities, emphasizing the unity forged over several years.

The defender acknowledges the skepticism surrounding the team’s summer upheaval but praises the seamless integration of new players, contributing to a tightly knit and successful group.

With confidence soaring, especially after reaching the Champions League knockouts for the third consecutive season, Bastoni envisions this as the strongest phase under Inzaghi. The players draw motivation from their experiences, including the uplifting effect of the final in Istanbul.

The 24 year-old underscores the importance of remaining vigilant to avoid setbacks, citing ‘ugly wins’ against Sassuolo and Bologna as examples. As Inter Milan pursues both domestic and European success, the Italian international emphasizes their determination to continue in their current positive trajectory.
