Bayer Leverkusen secured their spot in the German Cup final by convincingly defeating Fortuna Dusseldorf in the semi-final match. Goals from Jeremie Frimpong and Amine Adil provided an early lead for Leverkusen followed by Florian Wirtz brace including one from the penalty spot sealing their dominant performance.

Kaiserslautern awaits them in the final after their victory over Saarbrucken. Leverkusen led by Xabi Alonso continues their unbeaten run this season aiming for three trophies. They currently lead the Bundesliga by 13 points and are also in the Europa League quarter-finals against West Ham.

This final appearance marks Leverkusen chance to secure their first major trophy since 1993. Dusseldorf, despite being third in the second tier fell short of reaching the cup final for the first time since 1980.
