Limond son Jake confirmed his passing on social media, praising his father’s resilience.
Limond career spanned various weight divisions and he was set to fight Joe Laws before his untimely death. Limond most memorable bout was against Khan in 2007 where he gave the undefeated rising star a tough challenge. Fellow boxers including Anthony Crolla and Curtis Woodhouse paid tribute to Limond highlighting his impact both in and out of the ring.
St Andrew’s Sporting Club where Limond was scheduled to fight Laws expressed shock and sadness at his loss remembering him as a legendary figure in the sport. Limond death found unresponsive in a car in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire is not considered suspicious by the police.
