Brazil’s 23 players squad for the upcoming Copa America includes Palmeiras prodigy Endrick who is set to join Real Madrid in July upon turning 18. However, Premier League players Casemiro, Richarlison and Gabriel Jesus were left out by coach Dorival Junior. Casemiro form and fitness struggles at Manchester United contributed to his exclusion, despite earning 75 caps. Richarlison, the top scorer for Brazil at the 2022 World Cup missed the cut this time despite a decent season with Tottenham.
Notable Premier League inclusions are Joao Gomes, Gabriel Martinelli, Ederson, Alisson and others. Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo are expected to lead the forward line, alongside Barcelona’s Raphinha. Despite an anterior cruciate ligament injury earlier this season, Eder Militao has been included in the squad. Brazil will commence their Copa America campaign against Costa Rica on June 24 followed by matches against Paraguay and Colombia.
Additionally, they will play friendlies against Mexico and the US in preparation for the tournament which will be held in the United States from June 20 to July 14.
