The official British kit for the upcoming Paris Olympics and Paralympics was revealed in Paris featuring a simple blue design aimed at avoiding controversy. Adidas the manufacturer emphasized the kit’s celebration of Great Britain unique aspects and athletes’ passion. Despite some social media criticism for being dull the kit opts for tradition with the Union Jack subtly placed on the left sleeve.

Unlike recent controversies over other countries’ kits the British design steers clear of any contentious elements. While some may find the predominantly blue color scheme repetitive former Olympian Katharine Merry praises its simplicity and classic style. The podium tracksuits are white to allow the medals to stand out. Athletes like Tom Daley and Olivia Breen welcomed the new kit with Breen appreciating the pops of color and freshness.

Adidas aims for the kit to enhance the athletes’ performance and connect them to their national identities.
