England batter Harry Brook is set to return home from the India tour due to personal reasons. The 24-year-old was anticipated to play in the opening Test but has left the squad immediately. Surrey’s Dan Lawrence will replace him, and Brook may rejoin later in the series. The England and Wales Cricket Board has requested privacy for the Brook family during this time. The England team will depart India between the second and third Tests due to the extended tour. Brook, having played in the West Indies series, has been a significant contributor with four centuries in 12 Test matches. Lawrence, expected to arrive in India soon, will cover for Brook in the middle order. He last played a Test in 2022 and was part of the Ashes squad.
