Peterborough strengthened their position in the League One automatic promotion race with a 3-1 victory over Stevenage. Harrison Burrows converted a penalty, Jadel Katongo scored his first league goal with a remarkable strike and Kwame Poku sealed the win with another goal.
Despite Stevenage’s dominance in the first half, a reckless challenge by Luther James-Wildin led to Burrows’ penalty just before halftime. Although Stevenage had chances in the second half it was Peterborough who capitalized on their opportunities securing their fifth consecutive league victory.
Stevenage managed to pull one back through Nick Freeman late in the game but it was not enough to avoid their first defeat in five matches.
