Catarina Macario Marvelous Return: Chelsea Triumphs 4-0 Against Leicester

Making a stellar return after a 20 months injury hiatus, Catarina Macario scored on her Chelsea debut helping the team secure a 4-0 victory against Leicester and reclaim the top spot in the Women’s Super League. The 24 years old American recovering from an ACL injury signed with Chelsea in July.

Mayra Ramirez with her first WSL goal and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd also contributed to Chelsea win. The victory leveled Chelsea on points with rivals Manchester City but they lead the table with a superior goal difference. Chelsea faces City in the Continental League Cup semi-finals testing their title aspirations.

Leicester remains seventh in the table. Catarina Macario goal coming after 641 days out due to injury highlighted her remarkable return and provided a boost to Chelsea title chase in the absence of star striker Sam Kerr.
