Charley Hull had to withdraw from the LPGA Tour’s Ford Championship during the second round due to illness, despite a strong start with an opening level-par 72 followed by a 2-under par on the front nine of her second round. She was within two shots of the halfway cut mark before illness forced her to WD.

Hull who has been battling flu all week has been playing well over the past year with a couple of runner-up finishes in majors but remains winless on the LPGA Tour since October 2022.  Despite a recent near-miss at the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship where she finished T10, she has garnered criticism from pundits like Trish Johnson for her aggressive course management.

Johnson believes Hull’s tendency to go for every flag might be holding her back from success.
