Charlie Woods the 15 years old son of golf legend Tiger Woods fell short in his bid to qualify for the PGA Tour’s Cognizant Classic after posting a 16-over-par 86 in a pre-qualifying event at Lost Lake Golf Club. Despite making 11 pars, Woods’ scorecard included several bogeys, double bogeys and a costly 12 on the par-four seventh hole.
The top 25 players and ties would advance to the final qualifier with four earning places in the main field. Rory McIlroy is set to participate in the PGA National event with a prize fund of £7.1m. Charlie Woods has previously played in the PNC Championship alongside his father.
