Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, currently representing Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations revealed on Tuesday that he intends to leave Napoli in the coming months. While this departure is expected in the summer, Chelsea is reportedly keen on securing his services.
Osimhen’s statement about making a decision for the next summer has led to speculations linking him with Stamford Bridge. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea is prepared to meet Osimhen’s contract clause of €130m to bring him to the Premier League.
Napoli hopes Osimhen continues to contribute goals until the end of the season but they acknowledge the likelihood of bidding him farewell in the summer as the clause is seen as a means to move to the Premier League. In essence, Gazzetta suggests that Osimhen’s potential move to Chelsea is contingent on the club meeting the financial requirements.
