Tottenham’s pursuit of Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher might face a delay until the summer, as neither the player nor his current club is enthusiastic about a January transfer. The Sun reports that Gallagher, 23, is now considered “unlikely” to leave Chelsea this month, but Tottenham, led by Mauricio Pochettino, remains keen on signing him.
According to SunSport, Pochettino has emphasized that selling Gallagher in January would be a mistake, prompting Spurs to reconsider their plans and target a summer transfer instead. A source revealed, “Tottenham is eager to secure Conor, but timing is a significant factor. Chelsea was open to letting him go a couple of months ago, and Spurs believed the deal was on track. However, recent weeks have seen Gallagher become crucial to the team, and the manager is concerned that his departure now could create major issues in the second half of the season.”
