Sam Jewell has become the latest addition to Chelsea’s staff from Brighton in the past 18 months. Chelsea previously acquired manager Graham Potter and his backroom team including assistant Billy Reid, Bjorn Hamberg, Bruno Saltor, Ben Roberts and Kyle McCauley in 2022.
Chelsea also secured the services of Paul Winstanley now one of the co-sporting directors. The trend continued with the signings of goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, defender Marc Cucurella and midfielder Moises Caicedo for a combined £200m.
Jewell known for his involvement in Brighton’s global talent-spotting especially in South America is the latest to make the move. With Chelsea’s ownership aiming for a multi-club structure and a majority stake in French side Strasbourg Jewell’s expertise could bolster the club’s efforts to sign promising young talents.
The move aligns well with Chelsea’s strategy of investing significantly in the transfer market.
