Conor Benn has faced a provisional suspension from boxing following appeals by UK Anti-Doping (Ukad) and the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC). Benn suspension came after he failed two voluntary drug tests for clomifene, a female fertility drug, ahead of his scheduled bout with Chris Eubank Jr. in March 2023.
Although the National Anti-Doping Panel lifted Benn suspension in July 2023, appeals from Ukad and the BBBofC against this decision were successful. As a result, Benn is provisionally prohibited from participating in any competitions organized or recognized by the BBBofC.
Despite maintaining his innocence, Benn unbeaten record of 23 professional bouts is now on hold. His recent fights have taken place in the United States including a unanimous points victory over Peter Dobson in Las Vegas in February.
