Conor Benn secured a hard fought unanimous points decision win against the previously undefeated Peter Dobson in their welterweight bout in Las Vegas. Despite facing challenges from Dobson in the later stages each judge scored the fight in Benn’s favor extending his unbeaten record to 23-0.
Benn, currently banned from fighting in the UK is awaiting the outcome of the British Boxing Board of Control’s appeal against the lifting of his provisional doping suspension. In another match, Joshua Buatsi triumphed in the WBA light-heavyweight championship final eliminator against Dan Azeez at Wembley Arena.
Buatsi showcased his best form handing Azeez his first professional defeat with a points victory of 116-110, 117-109, 117-109 attacking the body from the outset.
