Conor McGregor is set to make his highly anticipated return to the UFC octagon against Michael Chandler on June 29, marking his comeback after three years since breaking his left leg in a fight with Dustin Poirier. McGregor last fight resulted in a technical knockout loss to Poirier in July 2021 requiring surgery for his injury. Chandler the former Bellator lightweight champion also lost to Poirier in his last fight in November 2022.

The fight between McGregor and Chandler has been teased by the UFC for over a year with both fighters coaching opposing teams in the reality show “The Ultimate Fighter.” McGregor announced the matchup in December, dubbing it the “greatest comeback of all time.” On the UFC 300 card, Alex Pereira retained the light heavyweight title with a stunning first-round knockout victory over Jamahal Hill while Zhang Weili retained the strawweight belt by defeating Yan Xiaonan.

Pereira victory came after a controversial moment where he seemingly waved off a low blow from Hill before landing a decisive left hook. Zhang win in the all-Chinese clash showcased her dominance in grappling exchanges leading to a unanimous decision victory. Additionally, Max Holloway delivered a thrilling finish on the card knocking out Justin Gaethje with a powerful right hand in the final seconds of their lightweight fight.
