The undefeated horse Constitution Hill faces a critical period as a decision regarding his defense of the Champion Hurdle is expected next week after a disappointing gallop at Kempton. The Nicky Henderson-trained horse found to have a lung infection will undergo another scope on Friday.

Subsequent approval for the Cheltenham Festival defense depends on a satisfactory gallop early next week. Henderson expressed concerns about the timing but remains hopeful with the use of antibiotics and specific treatments.

Previously, Constitution Hill a strong favorite faces competition from State Man who has become the favorite following the recent developments.
