The Philadelphia Eagles have denied allegations of improper communication between GM Howie Roseman and running back Saquon Barkley during the pre-free agency negotiation period. Barkley a Pennsylvania native and Penn State alum signed a three years $37.75 million contract with the Eagles including $26 million guaranteed.
Former coach James Franklin suggested direct contact between Roseman and Barkley but the Eagles insist all communication was through Barkley’s agent. The NFL has not commented on a potential investigation and Barkley’s former team the Giants have not raised concerns.
Barkley known for his standout performances with the Giants garnered interest from teams like the Bears and Texans in addition to the Eagles.
