Could Ex-Chelsea Striker Dominic Solanke Return to Stamford Bridge?

As the January transfer window opens, Chelsea are reportedly expanding their search for attacking reinforcements with Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney proving elusive targets. One name that has emerged as a potential option is former Blues striker Dominic Solanke, who has been in impressive form for Bournemouth this season.
Solanke, 26, came through the youth ranks at Chelsea and made his first-team debut in 2014. However, he struggled to establish himself at Stamford Bridge, making just 19 Premier League appearances before leaving for Liverpool in 2017.
After a similarly disappointing spell at Anfield, Solanke joined Bournemouth in 2019 and has since found his feet in the Premier League. He has scored 12 goals in 18 appearances for the Cherries this season, leading to calls for a return to his former club.
Former Premier League midfielder Jermaine Jenas believes Solanke could be a good fit for Chelsea, given their struggles in front of goal this season.
“Chelsea need to find a striker who is a guarantee,” Jenas said on TNT Sports. “I don’t think they will do that in January and will wait till summer to make those kinds of moves now that (Christopher) Nkunku is back.”
Solanke’s impressive form for Bournemouth suggests he could be a valuable addition to Chelsea’s attack. However, it remains to be seen whether the Blues will make a move for their former player in the January transfer window.
