Crystal Palace announced that manager Roy Hodgson is in stable condition in the hospital after becoming unwell during Thursday morning’s training session. The news conference was canceled and there were reports of Hodgson being sacked as the club is currently 15th in the Premier League. The club expressed best wishes for Hodgson’s speedy recovery.
Former Eintracht Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner is reportedly a strong candidate to replace him. Hodgson recently marked his 200th match as Palace manager with the team losing 3-1 to Chelsea. Palace has faced challenges winning only three league games since September and losing 10 of the past 16 matches.
Supporters have called for Hodgson’s dismissal displaying banners and expressing frustration. Oliver Glasner who won the Europa League with Frankfurt in 2022 is seen as a potential successor.
