Linebacker Eric Kendricks initially set to join the San Francisco 49ers on a one year deal has opted instead to sign with the Dallas Cowboys according to sources. The Cowboys officially announced their agreement with Kendricks for a one year contract. Kendricks’ decision was influenced by his familiarity with Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer who coached him during his tenure with the Minnesota Vikings.
Kendricks a former Pro Bowl selection brings valuable experience and expertise to the Cowboys’ linebacker corps. He fills a crucial void for the team, particularly after the loss of key players like Leighton Vander Esch and DeMarvion Overshown to injuries.
Kendricks was released by the Los Angeles Chargers due to salary cap constraints but had a productive season in 2023 recording 117 tackles and 3.5 sacks. With over 1,000 career tackles and a Pro Bowl selection in 2019, Kendricks is expected to be a significant asset for the Cowboys’ defense.
