Darius van Driel emerged as the victor at the Magical Kenya Open in Nairobi while delivery driver Joe Dean experiencing a transformative week closed with a 67 creating one of the most remarkable stories on the DP World Tour. Despite earning his tour card through the Qualifying School in 2023, Dean faced financial constraints and returned to his job as a delivery driver for Morrisons.

However, a tie for second place in the Kenya Open accompanied by a prize of just over €200,000 is set to change Dean’s life. Reflecting on his journey, he acknowledged the challenges ahead but expressed gratitude for the opportunity. Darius van Driel secured a two shots victory at 14 under leaving Dean and Nacho Elvira in joint second. The win marked a significant turning point for Dean who overcame initial doubts about belonging on the tour.
