While World Championship victories are a significant factor, they’re not the sole criteria considered. Joe Davis the pioneer of the game dominated the early years winning 15 World Championships. Ray Reardon and Alex Higgins followed each leaving a lasting legacy despite competing in different eras with limited elite competition.

Yet, today’s snooker landscape presents a tougher challenge raising questions about how past legends would fare against modern players. Professional titles won, highest rankings and sustained excellence at the top level are also vital considerations.
