Constitution Hill last year’s Champion Hurdle winner will not participate in the upcoming Cheltenham Festival due to health concerns. After a poor workout at Kempton Park and subsequent medical checks, trainer Nicky Henderson expressed hope for recovery but revealed that the blood test results were unsatisfactory.
Despite signs of improvement, Constitution Hill has not fully recovered and Henderson decided not to push the horse further. The decision aims to prioritize the horse’s well-being, with plans to aim for a return next year. The absence of the reigning champion adds a somber note to the Cheltenham Festival’s opening day.
Despite this setback, Henderson assures that there will be future opportunities for Constitution Hill to showcase his prowess.
