Andy Murray secured his first victory of the 2024 season with an impressive performance defeating France’s Alexandre Muller 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) in the Qatar Open first round. The 36 years old British player ranked 50th ended a six-match losing streak and expressed his delight at the win.
Despite facing a knee injury that required early treatment, Murray displayed encouraging tennis especially with his serving and groundstrokes. The victory sets him up to face 18 years old Czech Jakub Mensik in the second round. Murray’s resilience and determination were evident as he aims for a better run in the season.
