Derik Queen Leads East to Victory in McDonald All-American Game

Derik Queen a standout center from Montverde Academy in Florida led the East team to victory over the West in the McDonald All-American game, outshining his high school teammate Cooper Flagg. Queen who is committed to Maryland scored 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds, earning co-MVP honors alongside Dylan Harper from the West team.

Harper a top recruit from Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey, impressed with 22 points, six rebounds and five assists. Flagg, the 2024 Gatorade Player of the Year bound for Duke, contributed eight points, six rebounds and three assists. Notable performances also came from Ace Bailey, Boogie Fland and Tre Johnson.

Bailey and Harper who will play for Rutgers showcased their talents while Fland signed with Kentucky scored 17 points and won the sportsmanship and leadership award. Johnson headed to Texas made crucial 3 pointers for the West team.

Ian Jackson a prospect for North Carolina added 21 points for the East. Additionally, Jalil Bethea committed to Miami won the dunk contest the previous night and contributed three points in the game.
