Disappointment for Liverpool Fans as Alonso Expected to Stay Put at Leverkusen

Liverpool is reconsidering their plans to appoint Xabi Alonso as they believe he will stay at Bayer Leverkusen for another season. The Merseyside club is now shifting their focus to Sporting’s head coach, Ruben Amorim and Brighton manager, Roberto De Zerbi as potential successors to Jurgen Klopp. This decision comes as a disappointment to Liverpool supporters who had hoped for Alonso return.

Despite interest from Bayern Munich, Alonso seems determined to continue his successful stint with Leverkusen currently leading the Bundesliga. Bayern honorary president, Uli Hoeness confirmed the difficulty in securing Alonso signature, emphasizing the Spaniard commitment to Leverkusen ongoing achievements.

Meanwhile, Amorim and De Zerbi emerge as strong contenders for the Liverpool managerial position with impressive track records in their respective clubs. The possibility of facing Alonso Leverkusen in the Europa League final adds an intriguing subplot to Liverpool season.
