Disappointment for Tiger Woods: Influenza Ends PGA Tour Return at Genesis Invitational

Tiger Woods’ return to the PGA Tour at the Genesis Invitational ended in withdrawal as the 15 times major champion cited illness later revealed to be influenza. Woods making his first appearance in 2024 struggled in the opening round with six bogeys and back spasms.

Despite efforts to battle through in the second round he slipped below the cut mark and withdrew midway through. Woods expressed disappointment on social media thanking supporters and acknowledging Genesis USA. His limited schedule in recent years is attributed to injuries marking his seventh PGA Tour event since November 2020.
