Hannah Green secured a dramatic one-stroke victory over Celine Boutier at the HSBC Women’s World Championship on the LPGA Tour. The 27 years old Australian sank a stunning 30-foot birdie at the final hole marking her fourth LPGA title and the first since last year’s JM Eagle LA Championship.
Boutier who initially led by two strokes had a chance to win but Green’s late brilliance sealed the win. Yuna Nishimura impressive final round propelled her to a tie for third place with Brooke Henderson, Mi Hyang Lee and Nasa Hataoka.
Overnight leader Ayaka Furue slipped finishing tied for eighth. Lydia Ko finished tied for 34th in the 66-player, no-cut tournament. The LPGA Tour now heads to China for the Blue Bay event before returning to California on March 21.
