Dramatic Penalty Shootout Sends Nottingham Forest Through to FA Cup Fifth Round

Nottingham Forest advanced to the FA Cup fifth round after defeating Bristol City in a penalty shootout. Taiwo Awoniyi scored the decisive penalty securing a clash with Manchester United. Divock Origi initially put Forest ahead but Jason Knight equalized for Bristol City soon after.

The match was far from dull with both teams missing opportunities in regular and extra time. The game was marked by controversy as Bristol City believed Origi’s goal involved a handball. Despite several chances, neither team could break the deadlock in extra time. Forest made eight changes and key substitutions like Callum Hudson-Odoi and Nuno Tavares made a difference.

Bristol City had their opportunities but couldn’t capitalize. The penalty shootout saw Awoniyi sealing the win for Forest setting up a showdown with Manchester United.
