Emery Praises Defensive Resilience as Villa Prevails 2-1 Over Fulham

Aston Villa secured a 2-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage with Ollie Watkins scoring twice and Rodrigo Muniz netting for Fulham. Villa manager Unai Emery praised Ollie Watkins’ “fantastic” performance highlighting his offensive and defensive contributions.

Emery expressed satisfaction with Villa’s defensive efforts and Emiliano Martinez’s crucial one-on-one save in added time. Despite Fulham’s comeback attempt, Marco Silva acknowledged his team’s “soft” defensive display emphasizing the need for greater aggression.

The win positions Villa well in the Premier League and Emery believes they deserved the victory.
