French President Emmanuel Macron suggests that the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics could be relocated from the River Seine to the Trocadéro or even the Stade de France if security concerns arise. Originally planned to take place along a 6km stretch of the river, the ceremony’s audience size has been reduced from 600,000 to 300,000, with ticket access now by invitation only.

Macron acknowledges the need for backup plans due to security threats including those from the Islamic State group and potential drone attacks. Despite these challenges, Macron expresses determination to host the historic event and pursue an Olympic truce.
