Everton’s appeal hearing regarding their 10-point deduction for breaking financial rules starts on Wednesday and is expected to last three days. The club admitted the breach but was surprised by the severity of the punishment. The appeal panel will review the ruling to determine if the penalty was fair.
Additionally, Nottingham Forest also faced sanctions for similar breaches. Everton currently sits 17th in the Premier League and faces Fulham on Tuesday. Premier League CEO Richard Masters faced scrutiny for referring to Everton and Forest as “small clubs” during a recent parliamentary hearing.
