Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz maintained his lead on the third and final day of 2024 pre-season testing in Bahrain clocking the fastest lap on the C3 tire. Sainz’s time of 1m31.247s placed him ahead of Red Bull’s Sergio Perez who caused a red-flag stoppage by dislodging a drain cover.
Lewis Hamilton secured the third-fastest time on the rarely-used C5 tire. Lance Stroll, Lando Norris and Alex Albon also posted competitive times. Williams and Haas recorded their fastest test times while Daniel Ricciardo’s Red Bull finished last after a high-fuel lap focus and a 70 laps race simulation.
