Fernando Alonso Instagram Post Fuels Speculation of Potential Move to Mercedes

Fresh speculation about Fernando Alonso potentially joining Mercedes for the 2025 Formula 1 season has emerged after he posted an image from the same Monaco café where his manager Flavio Briatore and Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff had met. With Lewis Hamilton  surprise move to Ferrari for the next season, Mercedes is left with a significant void to fill leading to numerous drivers being linked to the team, including Alonso.

The image Alonso shared on Instagram featuring a cup similar to the one seen during Wolff and Briatore meeting has sparked further speculation. Alonso himself has stated that he must first decide if he wants to continue racing in F1 beyond 2024 before considering which team to join.

Despite the uncertainty, Alonso has started the 2024 season as the lead driver for Aston Martin.
