Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc maintained the team’s lead on the final day of F1 pre-season testing, with George Russell of Mercedes in second and Max Verstappen of Red Bull in fourth. Leclerc set the fastest lap of 1:30.322 on the C5 tires. The morning session was disrupted by a dislodged drain cover causing a red flag.
Despite Red Bull’s impressive performance, Ferrari and Mercedes also demonstrated strength. Leclerc expressed confidence in the new Ferrari and the overall belief is that Red Bull remains a formidable force. Drain cover issues persisted halting testing for the second consecutive day. The Bahrain Grand Prix opens the season next week.
