Newcastle has turned down a loan offer for 31-year-old Wilson from Atletico Madrid with AC Milan also expressing interest. To comply with Financial Fair Play rules, Newcastle needs to sell players before making new signings, especially since Wilson’s contract expires next summer. Despite being a proven Premier League scorer, Wilson has missed about 40% of matches due to injuries.

Other Newcastle players, like Almiron and Lascelles are also attracting interest from clubs. Newcastle is eyeing potential signings like Onana and Gibbs-White with funds potentially available from player sales. Arsenal is reportedly keeping tabs on Wilson. In a recent podcast episode, Wilson addressed transfer rumors but didn’t provide further details.

Currently sidelined with a calf injury, Wilson aims to secure a place in England’s Euro 2024 squad with a strong performance. Since joining Newcastle from Bournemouth in 2020, he has scored 46 goals in 102 appearances.
