Reports suggest that Chelsea and Manchester City could face expulsion from the Premier League if found guilty of breaching Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations. Nottingham Forest recently received a four points deduction for breaching Profit and Sustainability rules highlighting the Premier League’s strict stance on financial compliance.

Everton also faced a points deduction for similar breaches. Manchester City faces 115 charges from the Premier League with a trial date pending while Chelsea has spent significantly since their takeover. The punishment guidelines indicate that even severe sanctions like expulsion could be imposed for major breaches.

Chelsea may need to raise funds through player sales to avoid penalties. Additionally, concerns about potential costs associated with managerial changes have added to Chelsea’s financial worries.
