Nottingham Forest extended their lead over the Premier League relegation zone by five points with a significant win against West Ham United at the City Ground. Taiwo Awoniyi opened the scoring just before halftime and Callum Hudson-Odoi secured the victory in added time. On-loan midfielder Kalvin Phillips received two yellow cards in three minutes adding to West Ham’s woes.

Forest moved up to 15th place while West Ham’s struggles continued keeping them in eighth. Despite Michail Antonio’s return, West Ham failed to create clear chances. Forest pressed for a second goal and although a potential penalty was denied they held on for the win.

West Ham manager David Moyes defended his record acknowledging the team’s recent poor results but emphasizing their previous successes in the Europa Conference League and Premier League. Moyes expressed understanding that fans may want something different but highlighted his commitment and the team’s collective disappointment with recent performances.
