Spanish prosecutors are seeking a two and a half years jail term for Luis Rubiales, the former head of Spain football federation over allegations of sexual assault and coercion. Rubiales is accused of forcibly kissing footballer Jenni Hermoso during Spain World Cup victory celebration last August.

The prosecutor also charged Jorge Vilda, Albert Luque and Ruben Rivera with coercion for allegedly pressuring Hermoso to claim the kiss was consensual. All four men deny the accusations. Additionally, the prosecutor is seeking €100,000 in damages for Hermoso and a restraining order against Rubiales.

The incident sparked global outrage and led to Rubiales resignation from his positions in football governance. FIFA upheld a three years ban against Rubiales in January.
