The first two races of the 2024 F1 season in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia will occur on Saturdays breaking from the usual Sunday schedule. This change is due to the start of Ramadan on Sunday, March 10 with the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix moved forward to avoid coinciding with the holy month.
The FIA regulations requiring a minimum of seven days between Grand Prix events resulted in the Bahrain Grand Prix being brought forward to Saturday, March 2. Additionally, the Las Vegas Grand Prix later in the season is also scheduled for a Saturday night.
While Sunday races are traditional, F1 has held races on various days in the past with Las Vegas in the previous year marking the first break from Grand Prix Sunday in almost 40 years.
