Antoine Dupont contributed a try as France secured the bronze medal with a 42-12 victory over the USA at the SVNS event in Vancouver. Despite initially trailing 14-12 and Dupont receiving a yellow card, France dominated the second half with Dupont scoring the final try.
The decision by the 27 years old to skip the Six Nations and join France’s sevens team for Olympic preparation proved fruitful. In the final, Argentina defeated New Zealand 36-12 while New Zealand emerged victorious over France with a 35-19 scoreline in the women’s category.
The Vancouver event marked the fourth in the SVNS season, with the next scheduled in Los Angeles from March 1-3.
