Feeling defeated the 33 years old considered quitting MMA feeling overwhelmed by the pressure and criticism from fans.
Despite her doubts, McCann’s coach Paul Rimmer, encouraged her to change things up by moving to a lower weight class. This decision brought her to the strawweight division where she found a renewed sense of determination and peace.
As she prepared for her next fight in Las Vegas against Diana Belbita, McCann faced another challenge, her friend Ryan Curtis suffered a serious injury during training leaving him paralyzed. This deeply affected McCann who decided to dedicate her upcoming fight to him using his walkout music as a tribute.
Despite the emotional strain McCann remained focused on honoring Curtis and promised to win for him. She found strength in his resilience and was determined to make him proud in the octagon.
