From Glory to Obscurity: The Journey of Forgotten Footballers Like Jo

Football careers are notoriously short-lived but some players manage to extend their time in the sport through remarkable longevity. Cristiano Ronaldo (39) continues to excel with Saudi side Al-Nassr, recently marking his 1000th club game with a goal. Similarly, Lionel Messi (36) shows no signs of slowing down, impressing with MLS team Inter Miami since his 2023 debut.

However, not all players enjoy such prominence in their later years. Among the forgotten footballers still active are names like Jo, once a rising star at Manchester City but now playing for Brazilian second division side Amazonas at age 36. Despite past success, he remains determined to prolong his career in the professional game.
