Oleksandr Usyk revealed he missed the birth of his daughter while preparing for the initially scheduled fight against Tyson Fury on February 17. Fury withdrew from the bout due to a cut above his eye sustained during training leading to the rescheduled fight on May 18.
Usyk expressed the sacrifices made for the fight including forgoing holidays and birthdays. Despite the setbacks and missing significant personal moments, Usyk remained positive emphasizing the unpredictability of life.
The bout, once again postponed will determine the undisputed heavyweight champion with Fury holding the WBC belt and Usyk possessing the WBA, WBO and IBF titles.
