In final Superbike qualifying at the North West 200, Glenn Irwin set the fastest-ever lap on the ‘Triangle’ course breaking the previous record set by Peter Hickman. Despite three red flag incidents during the qualifying sessions, no serious injuries were reported. Irwin secured pole position for the upcoming race with Davey Todd and Michael Dunlop also starting from the front row.
Irwin aims to equal the NW200 Superbike victory record expressing confidence but expecting strong competition. TAS Racing team principal Philip Neill acknowledges Irwin favoritism but believes Todd can challenge him. Dean Harrison and Peter Hickman rounded out the top five in qualifying. In the Superstock class, Todd claimed pole position while Richard Cooper and Hickman secured poles in the Supersport and Supertwin classes, respectively.
