The Global Esports Federation (GEF) and MGM Alternative a division of Amazon MGM Studios have formed a content-focused partnership to create content around the Global Esports Games, esports players and the broader industry. This collaboration involves the production of linear and streaming content as well as live events within GEF’s esports conventions and events. MGM Alternative known for TV projects like Shark Tank and The Voice is entering the esports industry through this partnership. The content produced will target gamer and a wider audience in anticipation of the 2024 Global Esports Games in China.
The partnership comes after the GEF established a new executive team in January, marking a significant update to its organizational structure. The 2023 Global Esports Games occurred in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia featuring over 950 esports athletes from 100+ nations. The 2024 event is scheduled for China followed by the United Arab Emirates in 2025, the USA in 2026, and Qatar in 2027. Paul J Foster, CEO of the Global Esports Federation expressed excitement about unlocking the potential of esports through this collaboration with MGM Alternative aiming to showcase diverse esports athletes’ stories to the world.
