Gloucester secured a spot in the European Challenge Cup quarter-finals by defeating Castres in a hard-fought match. Despite Castres’ spirited performance, Gloucester first-half tries from Zach Mercer, Jonny May and Max Llewellyn gave them a comfortable lead.
Although Castres fought back with tries from Loris Zarantonello and Josaia Raisuqe in the second half, Gloucester defense held firm. Gloucester who have already won the Premiership Rugby Cup this season are now aiming for success in the European Challenge Cup.
They will face either Sale or Ospreys in the quarter-finals with hopes of reaching the final at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
