Guardiola Provides Stones and Doku Update Ahead of Villa Clash

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has given updates on John Stones and Jeremy Doku ahead of the upcoming match against Aston Villa.

Guardiola revealed that Stones could potentially start the game after being ready for the last match, providing an option in the absence of suspended players Rodri and Jack Grealish.

He mentioned considering various possibilities against Villa, including Stones, Akanji, and Ake in different roles.

Regarding Kalvin Phillips, Guardiola acknowledged the chance of him filling the midfield pivot void, depending on the afternoon training session’s assessment.

The availability of Doku remains uncertain, with Guardiola planning to discuss the matter with doctors after the training session.

The decisions on the lineup will be finalized closer to the match, as City aims to find the best solutions to compete against Villa’s formidable home record.
